Hi
Each month we post our “Renderings of the Month” for you to vote on and select your favourite. The technical staff at Cadsoft enjoys creating something new each month and appreciate your positive comments. Some you may not like but now is a chance to show us what you do like!
Send your rendering of the month to [email protected] and we will include it in the voting poll each month and in our newsletter. Giving you full credit of course.
April rendering will be a Bathroom rendering. Send us your bathroom rendering by the 26th of March and we will include it in the poll and newsletter.
We look forward to promoting your work!
Hi Chantale,
Thanks for doing this, i look forward to it. Thanks to the technical team that enjoys creating a room every month. And for the fact that some may not like it, I think that is a good thing because if everyone would like the same stuff it would be very boring, I can’t speak for other people but i enjoy looking at all the different ideas people come with. So keep it up!
Conrad
2 more days to go.
Hope you all found time to do a bath rendering.
Jack
Yes Jack trying to finish mine now:)
I’m just hoping this got at least a couple people excited and wanting to be apart of it.
Conrad
I agree Conrad,
And I also may add that being the best isn’t what counts. Seeing the littlest technique may make a big difference for us users. Years ago KITCHEN was the subject.
For some reason I was working on a light for a candle, yellow glow. I threw in a few pine cabinets / wood stove …. and even assigned some white texture to little itty bitty columns to make smoke from top of fry pan.
I got the yellow light, but the 2nd main part was to get a light glow on the kitchen table, even though it was dusk.
A lot of effort on a few items got me one of my favorite renderings.
So, I hope others get the time to post anything related to a BATH….
Jack
Hello Jack,
I totally agree. which is why i posted this comment in previous: And for the fact that some may not like it, I think that is a good thing because if everyone would like the same stuff it would be very boring, I can’t speak for other people but i enjoy looking at all the different ideas people come with.
I’m not the kind of person that could tell anyone that i don’t like their designs. They all have something that you can take tips from.
And lighting is one of the most important things to make a render pop, in my opinion.
Yea jack that render above is one of my favorites of yours. i have it saved to a folder where i keep my favorite renders other people did, Great job on that one!!!! i tried putting candles in a job i had. Failed miserably, deleted it moved on.

The last one got a total of 4 votes (and I did not vote).
So…the 3 people here on the forum enter and vote on each others stuff…
Sounds challenging…

Conrad
Conrad, it would seem that most of those people you listed are not voting now wouldn’t it?
From the poll before the last one…Kitchens;
3 votes seriously
See? We’re not so different…
Yeah SDS,
I was just trying to encourage these people to want to be a part of it. I know its kinda confusing but I’m gonna try to get them involved or do my best anyway.
I’m hoping now that they can be a part of it that they’ll also want to do more, like participating in the conversations.

Hey Conrad,
Fishin Kitchen candle lights. I shrunk the lights to almost a dot, maybe 1/2″ sized. I put a line tool circle around each one to keep track of them. You could also go to Glass section in materials and make an Invisible glass , full transparence, no shine and assign it to the lights.
Sizing doesn’t affect the light source in any way , but shrinking fixture does cause light to shine in all directions. Which a candle does.
With our new version, I could have increased the Emissive of the flame itself, making the candle to appear to be lit.
There is no Sun in the render, the ‘glow’ ‘dusk’ on the table is a light outside the window.
Jack
Thanks Jack,
Great stuff to know!

For anyone interested and I thought this might interest SDS as you had wondered how many users there are,
Just as a follow up on a previous conversation. One time we had been discussing how much users Envisioneer has, I came across the number so I decided to share.
Cadsoft is an award-winning developer of 3D Building Information Modeling software and is one of the world’s largest licensor of home design and construction software with over 2 million users worldwide in 4 different languages.
Thought this was very interesting now we just gotta get some of these guys into the competition and involved and we’ll have a real blast 🙂

I guess we’ll have to differ on the definition of ‘Users”…I started out using the HGTV Deluxe Home Edition. It was given to me by a client…they paid $89 for it, new. The client was a lawyer or maybe a traffic cop, some decidedly-non architectural occupation…and he’d bought this software solely to design an addition to his home (it was actually a +/- 10,000sqft addition to his existing home but whatever) and then hire (me) a professional designer to produce plans from his design.
In no way did this client purchase this software for ongoing use…it was a one-off thing for him. After this project he was never going to use it again, so he gave it to me. However, it would be a couple years before I actually installed it and checked it out and, through a little research discovered that this HGTV software was and still is the very same platform as Cadsoft’s Personal Architect which retails for $99 here on this site.
These are the majority of your “2 million users” that Cadsoft is bragging about…there is no way in hell there are 2 million professional designers using this company’s software on a regular basis.
Bullshit.
Show me a list of companies with a stable of drafters they’ve trained to work on a Cadsoft platform. Not possible because anyone with any sense would be using Chief Architect instead, or Architectural Desktop, or Revit or Softplan…or even Sketchup. There are several platforms that function much more RELIABLY than Cadsoft’s
Simply check the job market ANYWHERE and show me companies advertising to hire designers proficient in ANY of Cadsoft’s four design suites…you cannot.
It does not take a dead forum to prove this software is a very, VERY far behind the curve as to what a design firm needs in a design platform.
(and again, no offense intended Conrad)
SDS,
I see well i wasn’t trying trying to start something either. I had just stumbled on that and had found it interesting.
Well I think you do great work using Envisioneer so please keep it up.
But you know i think every software has it’s thing because a lot of people do not like Softplan, And there are people that really shoot down chief architect cause they don’t have anything like a sloped wall. I think Envisioneer had sloped walls already for a long time. But Sketchup is a great tool to use with Envisioneer.
And like i said I didn’t say this to create any controversy.
