    Hi everyone,

How do I model the terrain so that I have grade on one side of retaining wall at 8′ and the other side at 0.  Using slope tool, I cannot get steep enough to hide in wall width.

    Thanks.

you have to use spot points.

but i’m going to warn you they don’t work very good,

all kinds of problems go with it.

I know, spot points can be very frustrating. Thought maybe Cadsoft solved this lately. Going back to doing a slope, then add a floor to look like grass to butt into top of retaining wall. Thanks for the suggestion.

The ‘PAD’ tool, can be set to thickness and uncheck ‘hug terrian’.

This example has a 6′ grade change. I add the PAD set to 6′ high.  You can add as many nodes as you want while inserting but cannot add node after it is completed. So, make sure if you have an odd space to ‘fill’ you add enough nodes.

I then set the PAD to match the height needed to create a fill at the wall.

‘Curve’ is also possible with a PAD.
