I am trying to insert a SmartView for my Foundation Plan.  I set everything the way I think it needs to be set and the floor plan still shows up.  In the smartview window when I am turning layers on and off the preview looks perfect.  I insert it and the first floor walls, doors, windows, etc…keep showing up.  Am I not turning something off that needs to be or do I need to turn something on?  In the locations box on the right side of the smartview window, does ‘All Locations’ need to be checked?  Please help.

    Hi MDD,

Good to hear you figured it out.

To clarify, you mentioned ‘All Location’ check mark. That is in the View Filter which is in both Models space and in Insert Views option. What is is used for in Model space is to turn on/off layers , walls / roofs/ cabinets any thing in your model.

If ‘All Locations’ is checked and you turn off Walls, then all the Walls on all your floors will be OFF.

If you uncheck ‘All Locations’ , then you highlight the Ground floor and turn off everything on that floor, only that floor is affected , your foundation is still ON.

Normally what you see in Model space 2D is what prints in sheet space. If more is ON, you can use the View Filter in Insert View to adjust without going back to Model space.

If you have inserted a view in Sheet View and you find you forgot to turn something on, or would like something off, then select the inserted view on the sheet.  Go to Insert View tab and select Redefine View and the pop up lets you adjust the View Filter settings, click redefine and the view changes without going though the whole insert process again.
