Like an idiot, I started a new project and did not name it. I worked on it for 6 hours, when my computer crashed and I lost my work. I have found the temp file but I can not open it. Does any one know how to open a temp or backup file? I have automatic save set on my computer, but I can not open the backup files. Help!

    Hello Jennifer,

Yes you can, you have to change the the file extension to be .bld  instead of .temp or .bkp

If your computer doesn’t show the file extensions in the top left part of your screen click on View and then check the box file extensions. and then you can edit the file that you selected and change it to the correct format .bld

But you should get to the bottom of the actual problem. If you have the autosave turned it should save the bld. file automatically every so often, how often do you have the time set for a autosave? You change it to every 10 or 15 minutes.

If you can’t figure it out just post the bkp. file on here and i’ll do it for you and return it.

    Hello

    In Envisioneer, go to File>Open.

In the Open dialog box, in the lower right corner, change the Envisioneer Documents (*.bld) to Envisioneer Backups (*.bkp) by clicking on the down arrow.

That will open the backup file directly.

    Enjoy!
