Is there a way to create a winder as in the capture1 image? The best that I can achieve is what you can see in capture 2. The limitation sems to be with the radius measurement, but I could be wrong.
Hi Baino, Capture 2 seems to be empty.
Mal.
capture 2 shows what I can do in env. I was hoping to be able to get the treads to have a zero length around the winder
Hi Baino,
I see no way to adjust Winder steps to get them coming to a point in dialog settings.
So, use old fashion way. Create the 3 Winders using either a surface or a floor by pick points. You can use existing layout as base to trace over, just bringing them to a ‘point’.
Then add two straight sections of stairs, one for bottom, one for top, noting riser heights.
Elevate the 3 winders independently and the top straight section.
Make the Winders ‘depth’ equal to other stairs step heights.

No solution yet for handrails other than to create a new location, create a ‘normal winder, add hand rail. One will have to be by pick points and elevated.
Align your stair with ‘parts’ over the one with handrail. Then in new location turn off stairs and leave on handrails.

I have seperated the 3 winders in the image to clarify them as seperate items.

G’day Chris!
Back online after taking 8 days to sort out migration from ADSL2+ to MTM (Malcolm Turnbull’s Mess) I think it’s all working correctly now after many phone calls to Internode Support (who blame their “Wholesale Provider”)
but back On Topic . . .
If only we still had read-only access to the old Forum. I remember a thread there (maybe 5 years ago) which explored these issues. iirc the stair width had to be increased to allow something else to be reduced, then the stair width had to be incrementally reduced . . . could have had something to do with stair rules & the measurement of “going” offset from the inside of the curve? (don’t quote me on that)
User has to juggle so many parameters that give completely unexpected results.
Try setting both d & f to 100 – you’ll probably get the craziest solution ever . . .
But then reduce e from 90 to 89.9 . . .
Thanks Jack and Merv.
Merv, is that a 3d staircase in your pic? That’s what I want. I know what you mean about randomly throwing numbers in. More’s the pity if it works out and can’t remember what you fluked!
Yes, 3 flights. 1 straight then 3 winders to the right, followed by 3 to the left
Nice stuff Merv ! thanks.
If working in ft / inches use d & f of 4 inches to replace 100 millimeters.
