    Great Renderings Guys,

My favorite color combo in number 2,

I can’t post on the C4 patch topic so will say it on here.

Thanks for posting the list Chantale!

    Sds,

Thanks for sharing that was very interesting. I never even heard of Eagle Point before this.

R sounds like he was what you call a true friend. 🙂 Sorry to hear you lost him.

One of the things we would dream about…so many conversations loosely based around the cutting-edge (at the time!) 3d modeling Eagle Point software I was using daily…was the idea that…some day…we would be able to walk around our designs in 3d and actually work in that environment. I can still picture him, arms pantomiming as he erected walls and doors and windows before us in an unrealized 3d space only he could seem to see, but I believed him, oh yes.

R died a few years ago, before I discovered Cadsoft and Envisioneer…but I know he would have loved it.

@Merv, you may want to provide a history lesson of Aussie Plan in this thread.

It has been an incredible journey to get technology to this point. Thanks for the post. Love the reminiscing.

Yes merv that would be interesting, Please do.

And i can’t help but think how much further will it go.

Yes guys i have a camera that’s strictly designed for that “walking/working purpose to. Only problem is to often i forget and move the other ones around because just before starting the render i see one thing I’d like to fix so walk in close and then it’s “Oops wrong camera”

Hey Jack that looks like a very interesting house 🙂  I’d love to see the roof layout on that one.

    Sds,

That texture Lock i would just love to have, Great idea.

    Thanks Merv,

That’s awesome, can’t believe i didn’t know that before this. i use the cascade windows for my floor plans in worksheet view but never knew you could do it with model view. This was a great tip to start off a new week. 🙂

    +1+1+1+1+1+1 SDS,

I could keep giving this a plus one the rest of the day.

The trim i always find that highly irritating when that happens, move one thing and it all goes back, repaint everything double check (sometimes really fast) run render ARRGGHH!! missed one then you have to rerun render. I’d just love it if that wouldn’t happen.

Now that I’d like to have to,

    Don’t think it’s possible though.

You can have a couple worksheet views open but i don’t know of a way that works for model view.

    Great!

Like to hear of other people’s work arounds to get things solved

That’ll only work on a fairly flat roof. Because if you make the ceiling material thick to match a steeper pitch roof it’ll stick out the top.

    Good Morning Phil,

Try this, might not be the best way but it works you have to modify the member to match your pitch of the roof  (smaller or larger).

This is what i always do if i can’t find an automatic way i use a member. Once it’s there and in the correct spot you can make it invisible in 2d then it won’t show up on your plan. (tip do one and mirror it to the opposite side then mirror those two to the other side.)

Edit: (just wanted to add that you can not make a member disappear in 2 d unless you turn it off in the view filter i had been thinking there’s an option in the properties to turn it off so only the 3 d model shows but i was wrong)  So if you use this option you’d just have to delete it off working drawing then.

Hip roof soffit set to plumb

Gable roof soffit set to plain

The triangle member i used to create the birdbox. Select it> do a right click.>add group> name it birdbox.

And then all you have to do is insert it every time you want to use it. Just elevate a 1/16″ higher than the bottom of fascia.

Yeah Jack that’s a great thought!

I’m also thinking of trying this, do you think i could make it shiny I’ll have to play with that option to, i know there’s a slider option to adjust shiny and reflection (i use that for a tile or hardwood floor) I might just experiment with that as soon as i get time. Will be to late for this job as it’s already moving towards final stamped drawing.

    Hey Phil,

Select the gable roof sides>then support & details> then change the gable type from plain to squared.

Then select the hip roof sides and then you just have to adjust the Fascia distances to get your desired top of wall match.

Way to go Allen and Hamid!! Thanks for submitting a render.

I was gonna do one and just didn’t get any time to 😒

Seems right now there’s just an endless amount of work around. But that being said I’m not complaining, I’m tickled with everything I got.🙂

Great job on all of them but there’s something about all that detail in office 1

    Sds,

The bubbles I got from sketchup and then I modified them using sketchup.

I bought the sketchup app about a half year ago and I’m starting to use it more and more to create 3d objects like kitchen island ( western style etc.) Fake trusses it’s very handy. Wish I was really good with it though. If I get a really tricky object I get the guy from 3d Hub to make it. He has Excellent work and great pricing.

I agree the rimless sink does kinda look odd but that’s the exact look they wanted, I put in a surface for the countertop got it close to what they wanted and then I inserted the sink bowl they chose, and cut an opening around the bowl the countertop was suppose to line up with the inside part of the bowl., so that you could’t see the lip at the top of bowl.
