Reinstalled…new computer…win10…everything is up to date as far as I can tell.

    Ryzen5 3600 with an nVidia RTX 3060…PA v13

So why won’t any of the materials that are imported into the catalog display?

The model in the attached pic is all white because it has imported catalog materials applied to it, the roof material on the porch roof is a stock material

The thumbnails for all imported materials are white too…however, stock materials already in the catalog display/work fine

This is the stock-installed catalog btw…applies to any catalog loaded though

You need to copy all the Stock catalog pics into your new computers Downloads folder, Cause if it’s not in the downloads folder it will not recognize it.

    Issue resolved through tech support.

Support sent me a catalog file that fixed the issue…no idea what the cause was. It occurred with every catalog I opened, including a copy downloaded from their BIM page, not sure what magic hoodoo is in the one they sent met that works but at least I can get back to work.

2+ week envisioneer nightmare is finally over…

I see i was thinking that you meant pics that you had downloaded.

Whoa you’re gonna be needing a seatbelt now to. 🙂 sounds like that thing will have some git up and go. Very nice computer.

Great looking project there SDS Great Turret!!

Thanks Conrad, I was in the middle of some extensive changes to this project when things went awry…a video driver update stopped envisioneer working properly, never resolved. Had to buy a new computer to get everything working again and then this stupid catalog issue comes up.

This new computer is spec for Chief Architect’s latest version…coming soon. It is very fast compared to my old system for sure 🙂

    SDS,

Yeah one little thing can mess up a pile of other things.

It’s kinda fun having a fast machine and not having to wait right?

Well I’m gonna miss you when you change, But nevertheless i wish you the best.

oh it’ll be a while yet…even after I get CA installed I’ll be running both for a while before I fully migrate over

In what areas did you see CA as superior?

In what areas did you see CA as superior?

I won’t even get into functionality, UI or the lack of community (no offense intended)…however, industry acceptance is also very important, and the knowledge base that is created from it.

I could go on for a while about all the things envisioneer does not do well or at all, but it should…I imagine CA is the same way…but at least there is a wealth of resources available to draw from with CA when I need it because there is a large community of users.

Hell, I was sold on CA’s real-time ray tracing coming out in their x13 version…

Just to be fair all the things that are wrong with Envisioneer were pointed out now, how about a couple CA negatives:

And I’m not trying to be offensive I just want to point out CA is not perfect.

Things i discovered with a little research

    Two Cheif Architect problems

No slope walls in that software.

And their renderings better be drastically improved to be anywhere near impressive. reason i say this do a search almost every one that use CA uses  a secondary rendering machine like Lumion, Twinmotion among others.

Not trying to knock them just pointing out facts, I’m sure they have stuff that is advanced but i can also say this much remember every software will have a down side somewhere and you usually find it after you start using it.

But you need to find out what’s right for you and also makes you happy, so hey maybe it’ll be perfect for you.

12 years ago I told the Oz Revit distributor that I’m too old to learn new software. I’m still convinced of that fact.

    Well guess what guys?

I went to do some landscaping and run the renders for this project yesterday so I can (finally!!!) get the revisions back to the clients…

None of the plants in the catalog Cadsoft sent me are visible….they’re all just white tiles and when inserted they’re just big, flat, white tiles in the model. See attached pic

So…whatever plants I already had inserted in the project are working fine…any plant that was not shows as a blank white tile (thumbnail) and when inserted is a blank white tile in the model…it’s an olive tree in the pic. The trees that are visible were already there…their thumbnails are visible as well.

See my original post…the only fix was for cadsoft support to send me their catalog…is that the answer again? Do I just go to them for a catalog that works every time I have to install this software?

What is worse…and no offense…but my only other outreach is a forum with 3 guys willing to take the time to answer questions. Let’s hope you can come up with a solution eh? I’m stuck…again.

By the way…tech support refers me here for answers…in case you weren’t aware.

Could you please put a bld of the project on here I’d be willing to take a look at it for you.

That’s the opposite of what happens if paths are incorrect.
Did both installations use the default Cadsoft settings?
Or do you use a Custom install, maybe putting all your custom images etc on a separate drive?

    SDS,

I had almost forgot and durng the night i remembered that same thing happened to me once with two of the flowers i used that they would just be a white picture. For a while i couldn’t use them but it eventually went away.

But one i did was make sure that my graphics drivers were up to date which they prolly should be with your new computer. (Nvidia did come out with new updated drivers just last week) and I’m using the studio Class drivers now seem to be working fine not sure if that would have anything to with it or not but would be at least  worth a try.
