Hello – I’m trying to print floor plans in black and white (not grayscale). I watched a 2019 webinar but I don’t have an option to click “print color as black and white” in the print dialog box. When I print, some of the walls are very light and none of the fixtures, appliances, or furniture show up on the printed plan. I’m printing to Adobe pdf with Adobe Acrobat Pro.
G’day & Welcome Jamimo!
Can you advise which programme & version you’re using?
VIEW MANAGER – PRINT PROPERTIES tab- PAGE SETUP should give you the options of Placement, then directly below that a checkbox to “Print all colors as black”. Note that this option is not available when printing direct from the 3D model – only from worksheets on which you’ve inserted a SmartView of your plan
Also you may have to check the line weights for specific layers for appliances, furniture etc

Thank you for responding! I’m using Virtual Architect Professional Home Design Version 9.0.
I’m only trying to do this for worksheets and, unfortunately, that “Print all colors as black” does NOT show up as an option.
I thought it might be something in my pdf software but there is not way to get the black and white lines needed for a clean print out by changing anything in Acrobat.
I’ve watched the 2019 printing webinar twice and it shows the “Print all colors as black” and how the print window changes to black and white. That option is not showing up in the print dialog box for me.
Maybe I need to go to Virtual Architect for this issue.
Hi
Virtual Architect doesn’t have worksheets and the ability to print the views as vector files that can “print all colors as black”. In Virtual Architect you can only access Model view, a raster view, that can’t print colors as black.
You would need ProArchitect, as a minimum, for that functionality. See the comparison chart where “Virtual Architect” is an equivalent of “Personal Architect”. https://www.cadsoft.com/products/product-comparison/
hmmm, so basically no way to print out a floor plan that is readable!
any workarounds?
I’m using this to design my own home, I’m not a professional.

Ask for quotes from users here?
Virtual Architect and Personal Architect are meant for modeling and conceptual ideas. When you want to do prints of floor plans and elevations you need to move up to ProArchitect. You can rent it for a month for $60 to get your prints out.
