    Hello

I am trying to make a log home and my exterior walls are cut off straight like a vinyl siding wall and I want it to look like a log home with every other log sticking out the side about 1 foot can someone help me?

    G’day conwe!

I’m not speaking from experience so no guarantees . . .

Have you tried extending the end of each wall “a foot or so” then applying a custom texture that has “log” then transparent then “log” ad infinitum?

On one nib you’d have to elevate the texture by the diameter of each log (Position in the Mapping” dialogue)

Let us know how you go . . .

    hey Fynrdzynr,

finally letting you know about log homes Nicholas Cudmore help me out even though i’m still having a few problems so i’ll try explain how to do it . you have to go into building locations and change everything to log wall then you have to go, “in 2d”  and turn framing mode on, then the log wall will appear then you have to select the log wall all except the windows or door parts you go to properties, infill configuration, change it to custom and then change the front and back side to log wall 1, and then you change the other two sides to log wall 2.the windows and doors you do the same way except you have to change it to log wall. but now i’m having a problem that it gives a 1″ gap in the wall on either side of the doors that goes all the way up to the roof any suggestions?😀 thanks again for all the help you’ve been to me.   conrad

    Maybe a TRIM issue?

yes I thought about that or I thought it might also have to do with the log wall window framing options that don’t really understand
