So this is what I’ve got, on my second floor of my chalet style house I have in the bedroom a closet, then a powder room, then a closet. When i put the partition walls to seperate the closets from the powder room the wall in the bedroom looses its drywall and turs into ply wood, if i remove the walls or do not bring them out to intersect with the back wall of those rooms it stays. any suggestions? also missing part of my roof.

Thanks for any input just when i think i got it figured out something new.

Env considers the perimeter walls on any location as being exterior, even when they’re inside a roof. Adding walls may be changing a wall’s status. That could account for the different finishes . . . . just guessing here though – would have to see your model.
Check that roof properties – Solution Type -is set to ignore location above.

    Hi Michelle,
I’ve added a link to video I did years ago that may help you understand a few things about your situation.
Even though the Roof is on the 1st floor, your walls on the upper must have been in a new location. If you make the Loft location set to 1/8″ for starters and place the roof on the 1/8″ high perimeter wall matching the lower floor, any new walls on the interior should be fine.
You can change those walls to auto extend and truncate under the roof, or select them and set them to a specific height.
Have a look at the attached video link to better understand your option.
