Put a roof on the house and it’ll wipe out those glares. If that’s what you’re talking about.

Interesting looking shower I just did one similar to that as well.

It’s great to hear from you again SDS 😊

No, not the glares…here is the house in question, from the outside. See attached.

The master bath pic I posted does has some ‘glaring’ issues though 🙂 (unfortunately I can’t send something like that to a client!!)

I’d post a ‘pre-render’ screen cap for comparison but it would ruin the game!

trip hazard leaving the bath, 2 steps against far wall but only 1 in shower screen, no floor waste, location of mixer, no exhaust fan . . .

Yeah i noticed the floor as well. Looked like there were 2 steps there but then i wasn’t sure if it was just the door glass that was making it look weird or what. the one window is black, If that’s the same house did your landscaping disappear or did you turn it off?

yea now you’re getting it…the render engine is doing something really funky due to the glass…not to mention the 1 blackened window

Landscaping is turned off for interior renders…always looks gawdawful rendered through the windows.

I ended up just sending the client a screencap of this view instead of a render…the trip hazard is the whole point of this shot, the client wanted a step there in the tub/shower area for some reason…I said no…they wanted to see what it looks like.

    That’s weird!
On a side note i wish they would do something so the trim goes around the end wall and also on your render that they would make an option to close it instead of being open.

Updated bathroom render attached…glass is still doing that voodoo that it do so well. I’ve absolutely no idea why the one window renders black while the other two show the outside background. So none of you guys have ever experienced this type of thing?  I’m more referring to the glitchy shift in the area behind the shower door…not the first time I’ve encountered it.

Yea…being able to close off the ends of trim…or wrap them around a corner/opening…just one of the MANY complaints I have that keep me from upgrading any further.

Hey good job SDS! i like that setup much better.

nope i never had a window turn black on me.

Something must be triggering it not sure what though.

    Edit:
Try painting window with a different glass might fix it.

What happens if you nudge the camera sideways?

I moved the cam further into the room…widened the lens out a bit. It was sitting “on the wall” so to speak, unfortunately the window remains black. Also, the black window has the same glass as the windows either side of it that are not black.

The shower door still ‘offsets’ the view behind it too…

    Hello,

I don’t see if you have found a solution, but for the issue around the shower door, a suggestion:

Can you edit and check on Glass material their IOR ? If it is on ‘Glass’, then can you set this parameter to ‘Air’ and try again ? I already had the same issue with Glass material.

    I hope it helps.

Well, the plans for this one are done and the client is looking them over one last time before they go to the engineer but I saw your comment today and figured I’d give it a try and what do ya know! Thanks LT 😉
