I’ve inserted a 14′ wide dormer with a gable roof. the walls used have trim assigned to them, which shows fine, added corner trim is fine, but I want to add an 8″ belly band to the gable wall, above the windows.

I add the trim (as crown) but it does not display. All things considered…it should.

I tried offsetting the trim up/down, adding it as chair rail/custom, forcing sides to be exterior, etc.

Ended up having to delete the dormer’s inserted walls (leaving the roof) and inserting new walls manually…same wall type, just inserted manually, in order to apply the trim as crown.

Curiously, the new wall would not extend to gable…when I tried to set the roof gable to the same wall type…it would not display the wall. Only surface would show.

Any ideas why the auto-inserted dormer walls wouldn’t display the trim?

    Good Morning SDS,

That is something I can’t do either but what I do for a workaround which is  fast is use a member select all 4 in this case and in the properties.  check the box (miter if possible) and then select custom, choose the profile and change it to the EXT. mold you want, you do have to elevate it up to exactly where  you want it. for me the members and posts are a very handy thing you can basically do anything with them.

Hope that helps not the correct answer but it works.

That’s a great workaround using members! Thanks for the tip.
