I have a rectangular member that I have used as a bulkhead and I cannot assign it a drashed line for the '2D Footprint'. It shows the dashed blue line in the dialog box but reverts to blue continuous in the model.  If I use a dash-dot blue line that shows OK but not the Dash only.  The Dash-Dash will also work, although they are VERY LOOOOONG dashes and very small gaps.

Applying the same dashed blue line to the roof, for example, works fine, so it is not the line style itself that is playing up.

I tried teplacing the member with a new one but it did the same thing.

Any thought why this is happening?

Sounds like a line scale issue. It looks ok with a roof line because it is longer and has a chance to repeat the line pattern but in a shorter member it doesn't. Test this by drawing a long member, the same length as the roof edge you have noticed a good depiction of the line style. Adjust the properties of the line type to be smaller values so it appears good for both.

Hi Chantale,

Thanks for that - changing the length of the dashes worked OK although the member was quite long anyway. I must admit I cannot understand why the length of the member changes the dashes but it works so that is the main thing

Thanks again.
