G'day Chris!
Even better than that, you don't even need contours, just a bunch of spot levels & v8 works out the contours for you. and labels them. Hope the spot levels can be labelled and have comments attached as well . . . . there I go dreaming again . .

V8 has updated the "View Filter" dialog box to include a new control that allows you to lock the display and/or selection state of each component in your 3D model.

The patterns library has been totally revamped for version 8. It now contains a wider variety of hatch patterns, all with a higher degree of quality.   New patterns include wood grain, insulation, brick, stone, earth and much more.

In the v8 features listed in the first table on http://www.cadsoft.com/envisioneer.php
it would be interesting to get an official interpretation of the following statement:
"Support for AutoCAD styles and attributes"
Does it mean we'll finally have custom line and user-configurable linetypes where I can specify x and y-offsets to create a linetype that resembles a section through a tile roof . . . . .

Just can't help dreaming (it's that time of night here again) styles

When importing a PDF file containing fonts that are not available on your computer, a dialog will alert you and provide some options for handling this issue. You can choose to rasterize the file so that the text is displayed, or leave vector geometry intact so that you can still snap to linework once the file is inserted. This also permits you to import much larger PDF files than accounted for previously.

Any news on the release date for the download. Have a new job with a sloping site that I would rather do in V8.

Hi Chantale, with the new terrain tool, when I have created a terrain mesh and it shows the contours, will I be able to select a point on that terrain and get the actual datum value from the program?  I mean, if I have my contours set at intervals of 1m and I want to start a building at a certain point between two contours, I would like to be able to get the actual level of that point to set up my building location accordingly.

Regards
Stephan
