Hi Chantale and Jack,
I have now attached the image showing the Hatch issue I had. Hatch shows in Model view in Patterned mode and in Smartview window in Patterned mode but disappears in the Worksheet and takes all other locations with it except the Ground Floor. This happens on a new insert or an update.
If I turn back to wireframe and Update or insert a new view, it all works OK.
The issue with the new location came about from the fact that I wanted to hide a Step (single Stair)but keep the sloping handrail. I turned off the Step in View Filter but lost the Ramp also obviously. So I created a new location for the Ramp and moved the ramp to that location, leaving the Step on the Ground Floor turned off. When I updated the Smartview there was no Ramp and it WAS turned on, being clearly visible in Model view. It did this repeatedly until I deleted the Smartview from the Worksheet and created a new one - so that is OK now.
As far as my steps are concerned I can't be sure about this one:
hit the redefine button and add the 2nd floor visibility.
I take it from this comment that, even though the visibility of the new Location is 'on' in the model, you have to turn it on also in the Redefine. I can only assume I did not do that, just presuming that if it was on in the model and I was updating, then it would know it was on, and display it. Obviously not so that was presumably the problem.
I have just tried the Hatch issue again on a NEW Worksheet using the following steps:
1. On Model view display in Patterned mode - Hatch is visible in the model.
2. Define Smartview and switch to Patterned mode - Hatch becomes visible in the Smatview window.
3. Insert onto New worksheet - no hatch patterns that were on the Ground Floor appear and all other elements not on the Ground floor disappear.
4. Define Smarview again in Wireframe mode and everything inserts (except the hatch of course).
The image below was done before, but the results in this latest test, on a new worksheet, was identical. The hatch is one I created in the program, but I have tried one of the inbuilt ones and it does the same thing. I can manually add the Hatch in the worksheet.
The only difference is selecting Patterned view - it works fine otherwise.
Is there something wrong in my steps for this to work?
EDIT: I have just tried this again in a new blank project and the hatch transfers to the worksheet OK, so it is obviously something limited to this project that is causing the problem. It is not the two doors side by side in my other post, as I deleted one and tried it again - still didn't work. Any suggestions?Allan
