Hi all,

I am trying to create a rendered animation of 4 walls and a roof. Yes, you are reading right. Only 4 walls and a roof. I wanted to test that feature of envisioneer with my new workstation to see how "FAST" it would be. Well, I can not even determaine the speed, because just after calculating radiosity, the program closes with a message that reads"the program stopped working. windows will try to find asolution and inform me if.....". Well, windows did not come back to me, I still can't create this MINOR animation and I am super disappointed with my new workstation. Do you think that windows ultimate 64 might have something to do with it? Jack, you use Nvidia Quadro Graphics Cards. Any thing I need to know there? ANYBODY.... PLEASE...HELP....I'M.....%$&*@#%!!!!!!

Regards
Stephan

I would have posted a screen clip of the error message, but since yesterday, I can't post any attachments either. Keeps on telling me the ...is full and I must contact support.

Hi Stephan,

I've not had problems with animation rendering using my Nvida FX 1700 graphics card or 64bit. I haven't tested it lately.

Can you do an advanced rendering without seeing the problem. Basically animation is using advanced rendering doing Radiosity first for the whole model then doing Raytrace for the indivual 'frames'.

I wonder why you can't post a jpg image. I've not had a problem.

I will try a quick test of animation.

Hi Stephan,

I'm not seeing any errors.

I set 4 walls, ceiling, 4 recessed lights.
A simple camera by path.
I set 'compression' to Tech Smith codec (which I use with Camtasia to make training videos)
Dropped to 10 frames per second (default was 24).
Checked the box to include Raytrace and set it to Medium Quality (3) and 4 for antialising (?spelling)

Radiosity completed in about 1 min.
Raytrace is taking about 10 seconds / frame.

I will post images when it is done.

I am wondering if you have a compression codec problem (by default it is set to None).

[ Done at 5:17 , I should have check start time but less than 10 min]

I am also getting error for adding images.

(got one added)

Jack

Thanks Jack,
Will try with your settings and let you know. Do I have to download a player for your codec. I tried windows over the weekend, it did not stop working, but I couldn't view anything afterwards with the one and the other went through all the steps, but there was no animation, just a still render.

No, I have now tried everything. Even re-installed. Nothing changes. It renders a proper advanced still render, but still no animation. Just the message" Envisioneer 7 has stopped working and needs to close........".

Can you verify that you are on v7.2? If not ensure you get the latest update and try again.

Thanks to all who assisted me in getting this right. A special thanks to Chantale at support. I was still running EV 7.1 and Chantale sugested I download EV 7.2. That worked and now my machine is flying through an animation.

Thanks again!
