I wanted to add a whole lot ot text surrounding one part of the floor plan, so I copied the worksheet so that it kept all my other notes also (rather than define a new Smartview and have to enter all the existing notes again).

On the copy of the Worksheet I deleted three quarters of the plan and added the copious notes relating to this section of the plan.

I then when back to my original plan Worksheet only to find that three quarters of it had been deleted also. I thought all I needed to do was update the Smarkview of the whole plan again and make the adjustments again but I found that this also updated the copied worksheet, restoring the 1/4 plan to a whole one and covering all my text.

I restored my backup so I now still have my 1/4 plan with notes and the original but now only 1/4 of the 'whole' plan.
How do I get my whole plan back again without ruining the 1/4 plan with notes? or do I just have to scrap that sheet and start all over again and recreate the main plan?

Having learnt not to do that again, is there a proper way to copy a Worksheet with it's Smartview and somehow tell it that this is a new Smartview not the original? or do you just copy the Worksheet with its additional notes, delete the Smartview and add a new one, realigning the exisiting text etc with the new Smartview? There must be a better way to do this but I cannot see how.

Any advise is very welcome!

Hi Allan,
I found the same a while ago. Had a thought about it in the meantime. Try this, copy that view, explode it, then add what you want, then make it a new block. My logic tells me that it should work, but I' ve learned with EV that my logic is not always the greatest.
Hope this helps.
