When I do an Advanced render of a curved wall, the exterior surface becomes a mixture of two textures, the Exterior surface and the Openings texture. The problem goes if you set the two surfaces to the same texture but even then not it appears to have 'recesses' in the brick, when they are in the shade.
Basic render has the same issue and is OK if both textures are the same but this does still not solve the problem for two reasons. First the inside window reveals are now brick, not painted plaster as they should be and obviously the render does not have the same 'life' that the Advanced render has.
Is this a general problem? Is there any other solution?

Take out the curved wall. Reinsert it going counterclockwise and it should work. Reported as an issue but at least you have a solution to move forward.

Thanks Chantale - works fine that way. A bit like the Guttering member, you have to draw it anticlockwise, or you get the sloping edge against the house. Thanks agian. Allan

Render it twice...
Once with each texture and the photoshop the two images together is what I would do to save loads of re-drawing.

Occasionally I have done that to correct a minor problem but I think with this situation it would be much quicker to replace the wall. I normally create multiple images from many angles and movies also, so it would not be really practical to adjust every one individually.
Where I find the technique can be useful sometimes though, is to quickly get daylight and artificial light at the same time without lots of experimental renders.

I have this problem at the moment.
Interesting thing is I used Chantales idea of converting curved lines into walls.
So Env 7 decided to draw them in wrong direction itself!!!!
Useful to know...

The walls will take on the direction that you drew the lines. So if you drew the line in the clockwise direction, the walls that are converted will also be considered have been 'drawn' clockwise.

Hi Natalie,
I think the problem is with Circular walls - as in a complete circle from a circular line. If you use the Circle line and convert it to walls you have the problem in the image below. You can only draw a circle from centre to edge or edge to edge (right to left or the revese, up-down or the reverse) - there is no way to draw it clockwise or anticlockwise that I can see.
In the image, one circle was drawn clicking right and then left and the other left and then right but there is no difference in the rendering.
To get a circular wall you would have to use the line tool to draw a square in an anticlockwise direction, and then curve each side - then convert to walls. Using the circle tool gives a perfect circle, very quickly - but you have the render problem.

Lets hope its fixed on V8 so that you can draw it either way...
