Not being a carpenter, does anyone know how a framing rule affects construction? Starting lower left on the drawing or top right makes no difference to my understanding. Undecided

G'day Tom!
Here in Oz it's typical to have sheet bracing (ply, osb, f.c.sheet) fixed at building corners (as well as elsewhere). To achieve the designed racking resistance they have to be nailed off in set patterns. If studs are spaced at 450crs we'd specify 900 wide sheets. To avoid having to add extra studs, studs would be spaced starting from the corner.

Initial wall frame setout on a site always refers to where the rafters (or trusses) will start from. A wall stud needs to fall either directly beneath a rafter or within a toepoke of it. If bracing needs to be included, extra studs are inserted (studs being the cheapest part of the equation)

You would mean from left to right as looking at the screen ?

So each wall going left to right are all the same ?

Does EV set out the rafters the same way then when working this out?

Do people out there using EV Actually use this in "real Life Situations" as  like print out a plan for Pre fab wall
Manufacturing?

It would be interesting

Hi
Printing walls might be ok but the Rafters are not set up for this
If you look at the frame mode the Rafters are not in line as we would pitch a roof from the corners at 600C Gable and from Hip
Truss layout is just a dream

Regarding the rafters, I noticed that EV cannot even place rafters opposite each other along the ridge board.  I can't imagine that it could lineup the studs with the rafters.

HI all
Add two top plates and that is how the building code works with rafters / truss not over studs
Most truss are set out for a hip at 2400 from the out edge of frame to the face side to the first Dutch hip truss with Hips flying over to the first main truss .
Now if we had truss set up in the program that would work on the above
Now  that would make it easy to place the Rafters / Truss don't you thing
In Down Under when we pitch a roof the Ridge is only 20mm in width so all rafters have to line up as the Ridge will bend in between and that is not good building pratice as a drawing showing that as well
How do they set the roofing layout Can we be told ? or could it be changed ?
It should be just a little fix may be 6.15
