In Envisioneer, is there a way to export the model into autocad, then re-export the same model into a dwg or 3ds format from autocad and still have the model retain its original material assignments from envisioneer for rendering in other programs like 3d studio viz.

If you are wondering why I would want to do this, I need to change the base points and scale before inserting into 3d viz for final rendering.

Thank you in advance,
Doug

Good Morning,

You can export the model out as a 3DS file which will retain the materials assigned to them.

Thanks,
Nick

I just tried the .3ds file format out of Envisioneer into MAX 7 and MAX couldn't read it. Said "improper file format"

The .lp file format works well between the two programs. All textures are attached. In MAX I go through the materials one at a time to change them to "Architectural" materials that do well with radiosity and ies lighting.
