Dimensioning Elevation Views

Has anyone found a way to easily get dimensions in elevation views? I am trying to use these views to make drawings from which I can build a small shed. So far the only way I have found is to manually measure and add " aligned dimensions" to the structure. It is also difficult to get the measurements for roof structure elements in this manner.

" The best way is to use Tools-Dimensions-Aligned Dimensions andpick on the corners you want dimensioned.
For best results make sure that the Ortho, Anglesnap,ObjSnap are all on. (Look in the lower right of your screen and you will see those options. If they are dark than they are on.)
