I have tried importing the attached cad file so I can convert it to a block. the import comes in messy.
I am attaching the two cad files that i am trying to convert to blocks. Let me know if anyone was able to import it and have it look in ev as it does in cad.

Thanks

G'day Max!
Somehow I don't think they looked like this in the dwg files!
Text/attributes superimposed everywhere.
Definitely legible in model.
But if I try to IV onto a worksheet Env loses the plot completely.
Just have to keep on bitching until it's fixed. There are several other threads regarding this. So frustrating . . . anyone taking money on c5 by Christmas?

Yes, it's late & I'm cranky!
Merv

PS I note you're putting metric values in brackets. Does that mean you're starting to convert to metric or is it just a concession so all the illegals can work in the construction industry  Smiley

The notes dwg import fine.

I just 'exploded text' when resaving from TurboCAD. The problem then becomes too many 'lines' for Envisioneer to handle. If this is a true AutoCAD file, they handle text differently. It is a mess trying to import ACAD work because of the text.

When I zoom in I can see the lines forming the text are not simple 'solid' lines but hollow shaped characters. This makes a simple letter  become quite complicated.

Add to all of this is the fact that the text is New Times Roman (for me in TCAD) which contains 'curves'.
The dwg file when exploded jumps to 50 mb. Making it quite useless.

the second dwg also imports fine once exploded in TCAD. But there are the same large file size problems because of the text AND, when opened in TCAD I see TWO  'blocks' sligthly offset from one another. One is the outline of the text and the other the 'fill' of the text.

TCAD handles text differently with options for Standard and Flexable text. The second is 'hollow', and what I see in your dwg files.

I also see what appears to be a duplicate/lines/shadow/fill? orangish color on the vertical construction lumber in the image with the text......maybe there are more problems than just the text??
