Thanks, useful info....BUT, more useful would be a master listing, indented/subset of all the contents of the master catalog. In .pdf format we could search for an item and then know if it exists and how to find it in the catalog when trying to insert an object or apply a material. Actually better yet would be a simple tool to extract such a list from any .bdb catalog database...that leaves the work up to us, and choice of .xls .pdf .txt .doc etc. AND we would have a copy of our own modified .bdb. How about it? Or can you explain what tool we would need to "read only" the .bdb?

Hello
I am happy to report that the Catalog list already exists - for the default Catalog. If you go to Help>Program Help. Scroll to the last option in the "Contents" list. The last option will be "Catalog Index". This is a list of all of the blocks that Envisioneer shipped and where it is located.
If you cut and paste this list into Excel you can further add to it with your own blocks or reorganize it.
Happy reading!

Thanks, did that
But it does not have other stuff such as materials or elements....I manually did a .xls file for all the categories and groups...but not all the detailed individual items...too much manual work....hence better to have ability to automatically extract file .bdb data....which PCs are very good at doing...
except I don't know the db structure....
I was able to extract a file copy easily from FP10 and FP11 using Access.

Exporting the database content currently not an option, but sounds like a great suggestion and has been added as a wishlist for future versions. Please don't expect for version 4.5 as this was obviously not in on time for that release. P.S. I don't have a date for the 4.5 release to reveal either, sorry. They are working very hard to get it to you.

G'day Chantale! How about leaking a few of those WishList items that were "in on time" just to wet the appetites . . . . Merv

Hello Chantale
Shortcut keys are a very useful & most welcome addition. The ability to customise toolbars is the wishlist item.
I don’t know how many users there are, but if there are 1000 of us & we could save 10 keystrokes, or mouse clicks, per day, the potential time savings from simple fine tuning are huge.
Referring to the Icon Reference Card MODEL VIEW I have my NOTATION toolbar tabbed, meaning it is two clicks to get automatic dimensions The LAYOUT toolbar includes everything from NOTATION, except the automatic dimensions. Why not add them to LAYOUT? There may be another option here. The rectangle tool needs to be supplemented with, or replaced by, a Regular Polygon tool (available in every other CAD program). Why not remove the Notation items from Layout & add a Regular Polygon tool? It doesn’t impact on anything, but what is the point of the Basic & Advanced View Control toolbars?
WORKSHEET VIEW I understand that nested commands require 3 shortcut keys. Dimensions are nested, meaning 2 mouse clicks, or 3 keystrokes. Adding only 3 additional buttons would allow text & dimensions to be accessed with a single click, or 2 keys.
Pending resolution of my suggestion on a Regular Polygon tool, please add the Rectangle tool to the Worksheet view.
The lack of a Save button requires 2 mouse clicks to save. Please add one (is ‘Save All’ a typo for ‘Save As’ which no one has bothered to correct?).
Keep up the good work. We are getting there.

Maurie, I can help with one item: there is a save button in the worksheet view. Go to toolbars and turn on the standard tool bar. This was added which I also was looking for.

Hi Maurie
1. I agree customizing toolbars would be another great asset to the software. I will add it to the wishlist. We will also look at your suggestions for restructuring the elements on each toolbar (i.e.layout, notation)
2. Dimensions in Worksheet view. You can reassign the quick keys for dimensions to 2 key strokes. a)Go to Settings - Program Settings and choose Keyboard from the list. b) With Keyboard appearing in the dialog box, choose the "Worksheet View" mode from the drop down. c) In the "Available Commands" list highlight "Dimensions. Linear Dimensions". The current Quick Key will appear below. d) Click on the "Remove" button. e) Put your cursor in the "Press Keys" edit box and type D Z and then click assign. Now the quick keys from linear dimensions are just 2 keys. You must ensure that the key strokes you choose are not assigned to another command.
3. Rectangle or a Polygon command should be added to the Worksheet View. Will ensure it is added.
4. "Save All" will save all open projects since you can have multiple Envisioneer projects open at the same time.
Thank you for all of the suggestions!

G'day Chantale! Why limit it to worksheet view? Polygons come in handy for construction lines when creating rotundas etc. Merv 3. Rectangle or a Polygon command should be added to the Worksheet View. Will ensure it is added.

Thanks Chantale
I have assigned DE for Exterior & DI for Interior - don't know where I got the 3 key idea from.

G'day again Chantale! Flyout behavoiur doesn't save a click at present. Sure it displays the icon of the last command used but we still have to click 2x. Click should call the last command used, click & hold should "flyout" a-la AutoCAD Better still, separate toolbars for each group of commands. eg Blocks, Text (& when are we going to see REAL PARAGRAPH text entities ala MTEXT?) HATCH, ARCS, CIRCLES . . . With screen real estate becoming more affordable by the month there's no reason not to have most (if not all) commands accessible by just one click. Merv 1. Good ideas as always Merv.
Toolbars and customization seems to be very popular. I will get busy typing your suggestions in to our wishlist database.

Hello again Chantale
I said in my initial post that Shortcut keys are a very useful & most welcome addition. Given the number of available actions in both model & worksheet views, it would be good to have a similar list of default shortcuts to the one which exists for the default Catalog under Help. In the short term, is it possible to make a list available in any text format?
As per Doug.S's post, the ability to export our own lists to excel would be useful.
