Well here we are 13 months down the track.
Has anyone been able to generate acceptable contour plans in Envisioneer?
I've turned AngleSnap OFF but contours are still unacceptably jagged.
I've traced over a Project Trace Image & the result is nothing like the original (unless I remove my spectacles!)

One more question. Why do my contours appear jagged rather than smooth like yours. I went into terrain settings and changed grid mesh spacing to 1000 (I use millimeters). I looked in the program settings / drawing aids and "enable grid" and "enable grid snap" are both unchecked. Must be another setting I am missing.
Any ideas?

The forum won't allow me to post the word d**gs or the short version of medications but I hope you get my drift!
Even if I tried hand tracing the original (shown here in black) an hour after I'd taken my medication I couldn't get as rough as this!
What happens to the contours below & right of the words EXISTING DWELLING?
Green lines are Env's interpretation of the contours.
Maroon is the site boundary in Envisioneer - the original was drawn on A1 but site plan provided had been reduced to A3 so I had to resize etc.
I was hoping to be able to leave AP/Build behind but . . . . .

When will Env be capable of producing contours like these?
I used the IMAGE command to import the very same jpg of the reduced hard copy Site Plan. Scaled it as required then input spot levels along each contour.
Executed the following commands:
Insert Contours, Curve Fit Contours then Mark Contours resulting in the following.
APDesign has had this functionality as long as I can remember!
Are Envisioneer's programmers even aware of what functionality is available in AP/Build?

Hi Merv, i have been using Build since version 4 and i agree envisioneer needs to be able to insert spot levels etc, i have tried a number of times with this program to reproduce contours without success.Build is very easy to use with regards to sections producing natural ground lines with a paralell 8.5meter line above to show the building is within the limits of height restrictions. So yes please to contours produced from spot levels.

Good evening Ang!
Spot levels are a "must" for me. Quite often a contour plan isn't available & the cost of having a surveyor prepare one with the existing structures accurately located prices the job out of reach of most homeowners just wanting a small extension, patio etc.
If I didn't know any better I guess I'd just fudge it.
Problem is I DO KNOW BETTER! I've enjoyed "far better" ever since I bought AP back in 94 or 95.
I was introduced to APDesign in 1988. v6.4 iirc, & I'm sure Brian had AP doing contours back then.
