Greetings Envisioneers,

I have some suggestions for the forum:

Several forums I belong to have areas (folders?) where files can be uploaded for the benefit and use of other forum members.  I know files can be attached to topic posts but they are mainly to illustrate something in the topic.  This is different.

There should be a place where members could upload catalog elements they have made themselves so others could download them and install them in their own catalogs.  I'm sure people here have come up with wonderful things they'd be willing to share.

There could be another place for people to upload project files so people could look at how they are put together, and another for images/renderings of projects they want to show off, and another for photos of actual built projects designed with Env.

With regard to catalog elements there is a particular need for some usable furniture and furnishings.  Users must have come up with some of their own because most of the furniture in the catalog looks like something you'd find in a second-hand store in the midwest in the early 1960's.  Whoever came up with that collection should be schooled sternly by the queer-eye crew.

There should be a place where helpful link suggestions could be posted.  For a start I would include these links:

The Env demo video - http://www.cadsoftstore.com/customercare/support/media/envisioneerdemonstration/Envisioneer%20Demonstration.html

Jack Zimmer's Cadcourse Env Dem - http://www.cadcourse.com/envisioneer/v3demo/envisreview.html

A direct link to the free help videos at cadsoft - http://www.cadsoft.com/trainingvids/help_videos.html

pdf of the Env Quick Start Guide - http://www.tecedu.com/resources/downloads/Quick%20Start%20Guide_imperial%5B1%5D.pdf

Thanks, Samiam

Samuam da man! I agree whole-heartedly as I have been making similar requests over the past month. I think Cadsoft is moving in that direction - they have been extremely helpful to me as of late - and I'm sure their focus is expediting the release of v4.0. Go team! I have several very simple cabinet components I can offer up - nothing your average high school dropout couldn't produce, but what the hey, they're free.

A great big 'thank you' to Nick for the major help with the crown mold corners. Beer doesn't ship well so the gift card IS on the way. The initial kitchen project that the corners were used in sold, and will start after the Holidays. I will post it after a few more details are added. Additional thanks to Merv, as I honestly had no idea the User's Guide was on the installation disc. I have also learned how to refine searches within the DB.
Surely all in here have noticed the rate of technical questions asked by me has slowed to a crawl, and I do appreciate your patience and tolerance.

To all the newbies, including the 3DHA practitioners, the best advice I can offer is:

1. Buy the Training Videos. Well worth the cost.

2. Open the Properties of every single element, in all Groups, so you can see exactly what is and what isn't in the Catalog, and find out how each Element works.

3. By all means, practice, practice, practice.
