I'm sorry I haven't been involved in the posts until now. Just caught up in the program I guess!  Anyhow if anyone is interested in using Express for their clients, I have setup a fairly efficient way to supply extra textures and the plant library if they wish to see my models as I see them.

To download files or view one way to lay things out you may go here: http://virtual-architec.com/3D.htm
Additionally, to get more realistic ground textures I occasionally make use of sattelite photos such as you can download off of Google earth.  If you need assistance or have questions feel free to ask.
I absolutely love the customizability of this program and use it heavily everyday.
Kudos to Cadsoft!

Express was just released by Cadsoft. Here are some particulars:
Introducing Envisioneer Express
I an effort to further promote the Envisioneer name and brand, a new extremely
lightweight version of Envisioneer is now available and will be placed on many
shareware and freeware web sites.
This software is free of charge. The following limitations are implemented into the
software.
• A very limited selection of catalog objects in very generic sizes
• No customization of any catalog objects
• No editing of properties of any inserted objects
• Only available element types are Walls, Doors, Windows, Openings, Roofs,
Stairs, Cabinets, Appliances, Electronics, Furniture, Lighting, and Plumbing
Symbols
• There is no annotation, landscaping, terrain, estimating, rendering or animations
This freeware version can also be used as a free viewer for clients who want to view
drawings created with full Envisioneer or IMAGINiT Builder 3D. You can get your copy
of Envisioneer Express within the next week at www.envisioneerexpress.com.
Hope this answers your question.

So is this what Mike(?) was referring to as the Lite version?
Were Pommies the guinea pigs this time?

I'm not sure what Mike was referring to as the Lite version.  Cadsoft has several different versions of Envisioneer out under different labels.  Maybe Chantale coudl answer that for you.

Hi

This is great for me as I intend to make a business of this in the future.

It will be very helpful to be able to send people the drawings that they can view themselves.

I seem to remember seeing some mention of a free 'Viewer' on the website before but it seemed to disappear.

I would like to see a viewer only.  You can use freeDWG viewer however if you just want your clients to see the model.

The Lite version is similar to EV but with the CAD removed and a few other minor limitations.  This is available in the UK for £120/$200 at www.envisioneer.co.uk - this is what Mike was referring to I think.

EV has only a 15 day trial I think this is too short and limits sales (Chantale please note).  15 days is not long enough for an expensive purchase like EV.

Thanks

Good morning, Mr V Architec. Great website (love the music...who is it?) and I see you are an authorized Cadsoft reseller. Beta tester also, perhaps? How long has your firm utilized Envisioneer?

It's true, but even with my extremely limited E3.0 capabilities, I'm selling a lot of work utilizing anywhere from 5% to 15% of the program. I simply don't have the time or comprehension to push it to it's limit. But it sells, that's why I purchased it, and that's what counts. When the traditional holiday slowdown occurs I plan to immerse myself in the four Cadsoft training videos, recently puchased. But, I constantly watch these forums for tips and quickly realize the more I learn, the less I know. I have gleened so much from the likes of Merv, Jeff, and Alex, and with the recent additions to the forums of Jack Zimmer and yourself, I can't wait to see what's around the next corner.

Thanks for the compliments!  We have been using envisioneer since version 1.0.  At the time I was still contracting and designing for my clients.  About 2 years ago we started phasing out building and just designing.  We also provide training in person or over the web for more in depth use of the program.  If you have other questions off topic we should switch to the other forum.
