Hi Everyone,
Lets coin a new term for what we want, because we dont want to be involved in a law suit.
instead of BIM (Building Information Modelling). lets say...
CDME (Construction drawings made easy).

G'day Alex
No-one has trademarked or copyrighted BIM so don't worry about litigation. My understanding of BIM is the additional info inherent in the 3D CAD model such as volumes for HVAC, thermal mass, energy transfer . . . it's just another buzzword. CadSoft products have had the ability to embed lots of additional data for years. Autodesk & the other dinosaurs of the CAD realm are only now starting to do this. After all, I think it took AutoCAD 10 years to develop extend & trim tools that compared to Brians!
btw, 4 letters are too hard to remember! ECD= Easy Construction Documentation.
IMHO BIM (as the US is pushing) is irrelevant to us here in Oz.
Re energy requirements of BCA, just email the plan to Bill Harrison at Q-Bears & the stuff he sends back is enough to make any certifier choke.
