I have uninstalled and reinstalled E3.0. Prior to starting another project I would like to simply draw all of my plans in black and white, for printing purposes, without all of the lengthy edit steps. How do I accomplish this?

Don't ask me! I've not yet got around to printing from Env.
Does this mean the matter has been resolved & 3.0c2 is running OK?

If it is just for printing purposes that you want black and white than the easiest way to get the b&w printout is to adjust your printer settings to print as a grayscale.

Otherwise you need to adjust the catalog for every element you insert and under the Appearance tab you need to adjust the linestyle of the  "2D Plan" component to be a black pen.

Talk about a work around...printing in color is a tremendous waste of ink. Grayscale doesn't print the lighter colors at all. This sucks. How would it make it much harder to edit a drawing, as stated here http://www.cadsoft.com/customercare/viewtopic.php?p=2721 ?

1. Go to File - Catalogs-Catalog Manager.
2. Click on the Libraries heading and then Linestyles.
3. Each linestyle here can be edited to be a new colour - black if you wish.

This will change your catalog for new drawings and elements using your "black" pens will show as such.

The Lineweights also make a huge difference on how it prints in greyscale. Go to Settings - Program Settings and under the Workspace tab, in the lower right hand corner, check off Show Lineweights. When you plot the lineweights plot thicker, which makes it nicer for greyscale.

The good news is it's relatively fast and easy to change all line styles to black. My preference is to change any black element in an all black drawing to red - the poor man's redline - when highlighting a problem/change/edit for designers, subcontractors, or suppliers.
