PS coming to grips with a mac keyboard, maybe I should have spelt that DUEL-boot!
This week I finally got around to meeting the challenge.
My son's little brother is a macaholic so while he was at TAFE I decided to see if it could be done.
Specifications:
2yo macbook (not Pro) with a 2.4GHz Core2Duo & 2GB RAM
He's running Parallels with 768MB RAM allocated. 32bit Windoze7 Ultimate (crying out for more RAM   )
Procedure:
Insert Build v7 CD but don't let it autorun.
In your file manager, navigate to the Build folder & find the installer. Rt-click, set it's compatibility to "XP SP3" then set it to "Run as administrator"
Run the installer, select "typical installation". Ignore the NetMeeting error msg at the end of the acad2k installation.
I deselected Imperial & Centimetres as well as tutorials.
DON"T run the HINSTALL utility at the end of Build setup.
I'd previously pulled the latest HDD32.exe from the Aladdin website http://www.aladdin.com/hasp/default.aspx & had it loaded on a pendrive. When I inserted it I opted to open folder to view files. Again,  set it's compatibility to "XP SP3" then set it to "Run as administrator"
Execute hdd32.exe & you should get a msg saying it was successful.
Now go to the Build shortcut on your Windoze desktop. Again, set it's compatibility to "XP SP3". I didn't bother to set it to "Run as administrator".

Clicked on the shortcut, Build started & asked the usual questions about Lock Code etc. I drew 4 brick veneer walls, inserted a cpl doors & a few more windows. Roof overhang offset, Fascia & Barge symbols for a hip at one end & gable at the other. Extended the gable end walls to within 100mm of the roof surface.
Generated Auto Elevations.
Jumped to a Layout & inserted 3 of the auto elevations.

I'm convinced Build should work the same as it would on a PC.

@Hardy
One of these days I'll get out there to see your magnificent new toy. Did you say it's a 28" screen?
Merv

PPS
I probably could have set compatibility to Vista SP2 but decided to play it safe.

Can't help but comment just how satisfying it was to see:
1. Inclined brick sills inserted just like an Aussie bricklayer lays them - none of this epoxied to the face of the veneer with a ledge outside the window for the pee-wees to dance on . . .

2. Hole cut in the frame ("core wall") was 44mm** wider than that cut in the brick wall, the head of the brick wall was 22mm** lower than the top of the opening in the frame & there was enough brick cut out below the window** frame for a brickie to comfortably lay his brick-on-edge sill.

3. A Panel-lift door where the panels really do overlap the wall opening . . just like in real life.

C'mon Envisioneer, get your act together . . .

**Note that all these dimensions are user-configurable in AP/Build

Don't waste your time trying to use x64 though.
XPMode seems to be the only solution there.

Bob Brown for US President, Donald Trump for Aussie PM, Julia for composting/recycling - would definitely be Greening Australia.
That's not going to happen but we can dream, can't we?
Like Wayne I also dream of Merv's dreams coming true - the versatility of Envisioneer + power of AP = happy camper
