also when i try copy and or move an item i pick up the item no worries but when i try to reposition it the object jumps all over the place (almost like it free floats) how do i fix this?

G'day Michelle!
Total RAM on the system?
How much RAM allocated to XPmode?

ahh... this is still driving me nuts. i have updated the mouse driver multiple times but still nothing. moving/ copying/ rotating objects is pretty much impossible as when i go to move the item it floats around the screen. its so bad i need to open my drawing in autocad make the change then reopen build.

i hope someone can help PLEASE!!

G'day Michelle!
Not sure if you need the extra overheads of XPMode.
Have you read my post re running Build on a Mac?
http://174.121.83.62/forum/index.php/topic,6185.0.html
(Note that the installation has to be done in compatibility mode as well.)
You should be able to just run in compatibility mode on Win7
I can't understand why Acad (which version?) works OK but Build doesn't . . .

If it works on  a mac emulating a PC . . . .
Make sure you run the installer from the Build folder in compatibility mode.
Download the latest Vista driver for the dongle & run it in campatibility mode
Lastly, make sure your shortcut to start Build also runs in compatibility mode. Never just click on a dwg & take the Open option. Always start Build from that shortcut.
(I've taken my meds so you better check that my summary of that other post is accurate)

I will give that a go tomorrow.

You shouldn't need to run VirtualPC/XPmode at all

G'day Michelle!
I always use hdd32.exe downloaded from Aladdin - think I had a link to the download page in that other post
Did Hinstall end with a msg to say it had installed successfully?

yeah thats the one that i downloaded and it did say that it installed correctly.
i actually right clicked on build shortcut and clicked 'run as administrator' and that has seemed to fix the problem. i'm going to actually do some work init now and see how the mouse issue goes and see if everything works

thanks

FANTASTIC!!! Grin

my build now works in windows 7 and i dont even need to run it in xp mode.
i dont know why they dont just make a  white sheet using the steps your showed me rather than making people buy windows ultimate (which i was told i had to do in order to run build) mind you ultimate was very expensive!

i dont even have those mouse issues now which is even a bigger bonus!!! Grin
