I am putting verandah stairs in the front of a dwelling and would like to know if there is a way of flairing the stairs at the bottom so both sides have a curve.. I have put in curved staits before but i need to flar the stairs at the bottom.
Cheers Arnie

G'day Arnie!
Only had to do it a cpl times & that was years ago but iirc I created an intermediate location to start the straight flight from. eg say it's 17 risers @172 each & you want the first 3 tapered. Create a dummy location 516 above the "start" location & insert your flight of 14 risers from there - say 1200 wide.
On a worksheet rough out the curve you want & note how much each tread will have to taper. Back to the real start location, insert a flight 3 risers high between it & the aforementioned dummy location - say 1800 wide & use the CENTER option to align it correctly.
Now break the stringers at the back edge of each tread & use the STRETCH tool to generate the approximate taper you've previously calculated.
If you've included handrail automatically it should already be broken into segments & will also STRETCH to align with the tapered ends of treads. You may still have to move newels though if you've specified a conventional balustrade..
